Marxz Rosado Ríos
Marxz Rosado Ríos was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico in 1973. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts with a major in Sculpture from the School of Fine Arts of Puerto Rico and a Master in Design from Domus Academy in Milan, Italy. He works professionally as an artist and industrial designer and has exhibited his projects internationally. He began teaching in 2004 at the Industrial Design Department of the School of Fine Arts of Puerto Rico, where he directed the design department from 2007 to 2009. During that time, he designed and developed the Industrial Design Prototyping and Fabrication Lab, which he now directs. In 2012 he established Seiz Dedos Studio with Hungarian fashion designer Ágnes Anna Szabó. Seiz Dedos is a design group that combines traditional hand crafted techniques assisted by digital fabrication. His work is motivated by a natural and experimental approach in which material, function and identity intertwine to form solutions charged with lasting meaning, quality and enduring appearance. As a designer and passionate craftsman, he is well recognized for his indoor and outdoor furniture, public artwork interventions, commodity products and exhibition design. He is a consultant for manufacturing processes with natural and composite materials and high temperature ceramics. He has extensive experience in the development, construction and maintenance of public art projects.
